Ways to Stay

Built around the remnants of a granite quarry, with its varied terrain and vegetation, each of our campsites is unique. Sites vary in size; some feature sun, others shade; a few are flat, more have terraced areas of granite ledge, gravel, and forest which offer privacy. Most sites are nestled among mixed hardwoods and evergreens, some with varying views of the quarry, the waters of Somes Sound and Norumbega Mountain on its far shore.

All the sites (except Lotus Belle Tents and Cabins) may be used by tent campers. Sites are categorized as nine different types (listed in this order on the booking pages):

  • Lotus Belle (2)
  • Cabins (4)
  • Waterfront (6)
  • Large Tent/Camper up to 30ft (6)
  • Medium Tent/Camper up to 25ft (8)
  • Small Tent/Camper up to 20ft (21)
  • Tent Platform (5)
  • Small Tent Only (8)
  • Non-electric (9)

Each site has a picnic table, a potable water spigot (where you may wash dishes), and an open fire pit constructed from local granite (bring your cookware and grate). Most sites have a prepared gravel surface for tent/camper and parking. Hanging tarps and hammocks is permitted where suitable trees are present.

Choose a site that offers the feel of privacy or one that lends itself to engaging with the camping community. Everyone is welcome to relax at the edge of the quarry, swim in the heated pool and walk down to the waterfront to enjoy the ocean. Our pier and floating dock are great for fishing, wildlife watching, stargazing, launching small boats, swimming and just enjoying the salt air and the view. Adult supervision is required for children.

Dogs are welcome at Tent and Camper sites (see our Rules & Regulations page).
